Property and infrastructure for tomorrow
Architecture and spatial development: the next 50 years - and beyond
We focus on the future of architecture and settlement – the future of communities and regions, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of our institute. This conference presents current initiatives that will still be relevant in 50, hundreds of years hence.
6 June: new architecture, urban design and planning, urban and regional development, better and sustainable use of resources, biodiversity, resilience and productivity form the focus of the first day. In the evening the 2013/14 results and prospects of the Zurich Climate Prize provide further practical and excellent examples.
7 June: we turn our attention to future infrastructures: to research into self-sufficient energy systems for the region, to new storage methods and to discussions surrounding opportunities for economic value that can arise from a sustainable approach to communities and regions. A series of local excursions rounds off the experience.
Speakers include Mathis Wackernagel, Werner Sobek, Manfred Hegger, Anton Falkeis, Conor Moloney, Ulrik Sylvest Nielsen/Jan Gehl, Dietrich Schwarz, Panos Mantziaras, Carmen de Jong, Barbara Imhof, Franz Baumgartner, Dieter Genske, Christopher Klages, Ludwig Karg, Carsten Schlag, Marco Menichetti and many more.
